CKC World Cricket Festival - 2019
World Cricket Festival Celebrating London’s diversity
CKC World Cricket Festival 2019
On 8th July 2019, our record breaking World Cricket Festival celebrated London’s diversity and the resurgence of cricket in the capital since 1989 – the year CKC was established.
Run on the eve of the men’s World Cup Semi-Finals, the festival was attended by over 1,200 participants, including over 900 children from 35 different primary schools.
As part of the festival, we ran the largest coaching session ever (30 minutes attended by 860 young people) with every child taking part simultaneously and the largest number of simultaneous matches (35 matches all taking place at the same time).
Showcasing London’s diversity, the children at the festival represented 58 different nationalities and 64 different languages.
