Rules

Aim: A quick fire game that provides an opportunity to practice batting and fielding in a match situation. The team with more runs after playing 30 balls will win the game. Each game will comprise of 30 balls per team (batting team will receive 30 balls to score as many runs as possible before they swap over to field).

One team bats and the other team fields (after 30 balls swap over).

Batting team line up in the allocated zone behind the stumps. Fielding team spread out in the field to cover all sides of the field.

One person bats at a time and the coach bowls the ball under arm.

The batter tries to hit the ball.

Each time they hit the ball, they must run to the stumps at the opposite end next to the coach to score 1 run and run back to score 2 runs and so on. They can continue running to score runs for the team until the fielders throw the ball back to coach. If the batter hits the ball over the boundary, it will be 4 runs.

If the batter hits the ball over the boundary without the ball bouncing, it will be 6 runs. When 4 or 6 runs is scored, the batter cannot get any more additional runs.

Batters are out if they are bowled or are caught, run out.

If the batters miss the ball – they still must run and try to score 1 run. After one shot the next batter comes into bat. Like this the rest of the team gets to bat. The batting team continues to bat in this manner until 30 balls have been faced.

Even if the batter is out, they join the back of the queue and can bat again once their turn comes. The aim of the fielding team is to catch batters out (if they catch it, the batters get no runs) or field the ball quickly and return it to the coach (to prevent the batter scoring more runs).
