Shahidul Alam Ratan
CEO
After joining CKC in June 2008 as the Development Head Coach, Ratan became the CEO in March 2015. An ECB Level 3 Coach and coach educator, Ratan has huge coaching experience from grassroots to elite level, junior cricket to high performance, as well as mentoring coaches, administration, planning, development and creative ideas to grow the game at both a recreational and elite level.
As a chief leader, Ratan conceptualizes and manages all cricket-development programmes for CKC across London. He has been instrumental in establishing and executing strategic partnerships with various cricket organisations including the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), County Cricket Boards (Essex, Middlesex, Surrey), the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), Chance to Shine and other sports development organisations.
Prior to CKC, Ratan served as the National Coach and High Performance Senior Coach for Bangladesh from 2001 to 2006. As part of the role, he was involved in assisting in the coaching of the Bangladesh Under 19 team (World Cup 2004), assisting the national team training as well as both the Under 25 and Under 17 teams. Ratan is also one of the only Bangladeshis who has worked as National Coach for a different country. He was the National Coach for Malaysia’s Cricket Team from 2006 to 2008. As part of the Malaysia Cricket Coach role, Ratan prepared the Under 19 squad to compete in the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup, 2008. Many of those players are now playing as national team players. Mushfiq Rahim (Bangladesh Captain), Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyadh and Nasir Hossain are some of notable names of professional cricketers coached by Ratan. As of today, he has delivered over 50 courses on Cricket Coaching for teams and individuals across Bangladesh, Malaysia, Pakistan, England, Switzerland and Sweden.
Ratan is a founding member of Tower Hamlets CC, West Ham & Stratford CC, Spikes Bridge Junior CC and Leyton Wicketz CC.
For recognition of his work in England, Ratan received the National Award for Developing Grassroots Cricket at the Asian Cricket Awards 2016. The awards were sponsored by the England & Wales Cricket Board. He is also on the prestigious list of British Bangladesh Who’s Who, 2016 and British Bangladesh Power 100 in 2004.
As a player, Ratan was an opening/middle order, right hand, batsman and wicket keeper. He played at the highest-level of domestic cricket in Bangladesh from 1985 to 2000 and represented Bangladesh three times in 1990.

Joe Fisher
Chief Operating officer
Joe has been associated with CKC since the age of 10 when he joined Victoria Park Juniors CC (now Tower Hamlets CC). As a participant, Joe took part in many CKC projects and programmes including club cricket, competitions and residential trips to Arundel and Ampleforth.
Joe initially began working part-time for CKC in 2015. Since then, he has gone on to become the Operations and Development Manager and oversees our staff and projects.

Shakeel Ahmed
Development Manager
Shakeel has been involved in Capital Kids Cricket projects since he started playing cricket in Secondary School. His first engagement with CKC was through a street project in Tower Hamlets back in 2008 where he was a participant. His involvement increased when he joined Tower Hamlets CC with the under 17 team and encouraged by Shahidul Alam Ratan to do a Coaching qualification. Shakeel has been coaching for CKC on a casual basis during his studies at University where he completed an Accounting and Finance Degree.
After completing his studies Shakeel joined Middlesex Cricket participation team as a coach in 2014 and worked with them for 7 years. In his time at Middlesex Cricket Shakeel worked through the ranks to Participation officer and gained experience on managing various projects. Since 2015 he has been a licensed ECB Coach Developer delivering as a tutor on ECB Foundation Coach Courses and ECB Core Coach Courses. In 2020 Shakeel completed his ECB Advanced Coaching Course (Formally Level 3) with support from Middlesex Cricket.
Shakeel Joined CKC in 2021 as a Development Manager and now looks after the key projects at Capital Kids Cricket and manages/mentors all the casual coaches who deliver on these projects.

Jerry Bramble
Senior Development Coach
Prior to joining CKC Jerry worked with The Access to Sports as a coach from 2007. Jerry joined CKC in 2010 as a full-time coach and has been an outstanding coach and role model to many individuals not only participants but also in the community. Jerry did his ECB Level 2 coaching qualification before he joined CKC but put many skills and understanding of what he learnt in the ECB coaching qualification into practice when he joined CKC. Jerry has a strong passion for cricket and providing multi sports activities to schools. Jerry’s passion came from his childhood where he played cricket whenever and wherever possible, later reaching New Zealand to play cricket as a professional cricketer, playing against the likes of Richard Hadlee and more. Jerry also takes great pride and joy in jointly breaking the world record in cricket coaching sessions for schools’ kids July 2019. This is regarded an astonishing achievement among coaches and it’s a great privilege to share the award with two of our coaches at CKC.

Denise O’Neill
Inclusion Coordinator & Coach
Denise has been involved with CKC from 2000 initially acting as a parent driver to games, competitions, festivals etc. Denise soon did her ECB Level 2 coaching qualification and was a coach for CKC and progressed into specialising in hospital schools 16 years ago, starting with Great Ormond Street Hospital. Denise started as a full-time coach with CKC in 2010, again with the intention to focus on hospital schools and SEND children and adults.
Denise’s enthusiasm for cricket started when her son began playing for Stoke Newington CC and Denise began to fall in love with the game from there. Furthermore, Denise was granted the opportunity to be a torch bearer in the Paralympics for her amazing work in and around SEND projects.
Denise has a list of recognisable achievements however, some of which she takes extra pride in is the Special Reconciliation for Work at GOSH Chance to Shine, National Chance to Shine No Boundaries Award 2019 and the nomination for Children of Collingham Child and Family the Apollo Award.

Manav Patel
Development Coach
Manav was a participant at the West Ham and Stratford CC when he was young which is a project of Capital Kids Cricket. He attended Rokeby Secondary School and was coached by Jerry both at the school and at club when he was a participant at the sessions. He has always liked cricket and has been a genuine young leader. Manav went to NewVic College to study BTEC Diploma in L3 Mechanical Engineering and alongside he was part of the NewVic Sports Academy for Cricket where they reached several Nationals Finals.
Manav Joined Capital Kids Cricket in March 2023 as Intern Development Coach which is a Programme funded by Jack Petchey. Manav wanted to do this role because of the positive impact CKC makes on the community and the benefit to children and young people through cricket. Manav completed his ECB Core Coach course in April 2023 and now delivering coaching in Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Clubs and other challenging environments. He has also taken up some administrative duties relating to various CKC projects.

Golam Roquib Milon
CMS and Admin Assistant
Roquib joined CKC in 2018 as a CMS and Admin Assistant. Roquib is a fundamental pillar of CKC who truly supports the background activities of CKC. Roquib assists in the admin support which includes invoices, management of event calendar, website management, marketing, promotion, video and content editor and supports qualitative and quantitative research for the annual impact report. Roquib is studying towards an MBA at the University of Dhaka & graduate in Electrical & Electronics. However, Roquib is very familiar with cricket reaching Regional cricket tournaments and University cricket tournaments.
