T20 Asia Blaze 2015 Culminates with Thrilling Final and Celebration Evening

The inaugural season of the T20 Asia Blaze concluded in style on Tuesday, 11th August 2015, with a high-spirited final match and presentation evening hosted at Wanstead Cricket Club, Overton Drive, London E11 2LW.

The event marked the end of a successful season for this exciting new initiative led by Capital Kids Cricket and London Tigers, aimed at uniting South Asian communities through the game of cricket. Throughout the tournament, players and supporters from Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka came together—forming friendships, partnerships, and a strong sense of shared community.

The final match saw Team Pakistan, the tournament’s top performers, face off against a Combined Asian XI in a thrilling Twenty20 contest held from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Guests began arriving from 5:00 PM, setting the tone for an evening full of celebration and sporting spirit.

Following the match, a presentation ceremony was held at 8:30 PM, where players, volunteers, and contributors were recognized for their efforts. The evening concluded with refreshments, providing an opportunity for players, families, and community leaders to reflect on a season of success, cultural unity, and grassroots cricket development.

The T20 Asia Blaze has not only showcased local cricketing talent but also proved to be a powerful platform for fostering inclusion and social cohesion across London’s diverse South Asian communities.
